Instructions on How to Uninstall USB-Serial Cable Drivers

Generally, this should not be necessary. Simply unplug the cable and the software stops running.

If required, the FTClean utility provided on the driver CD can remove the driver(s) from a computer.

First, load the driver CD and open "Utilities" folder, then "FTClean" folder. Double-click on "FTClean.exe".

The following should open.

In the VID (Hex) box, click on the down arrow, and select "Other".

You need to supply the Vendor ID (VID) and Product ID (PID) in the fill-in boxes above. The Vendor ID is 1A79. The Product ID is 6001. Bayer HealthCare Confidential Page 33 of 35 June 24, 2008

After the VID and PID numbers have been entered, click on "Clean System".

The following window will be displayed. Disconnect the Bayer USB Cable from the computer, and then click OK.

The following window will be displayed. Select "Yes" to continue.

The following window will be displayed. Select "No" to continue.

A series of messages will be displayed while the drivers are being uninstalled from your computer. The following window will be displayed when the uninstallation is completed. Click "Exit" to close window.

If the user has a Windows Vista operating system, follow the steps below to uninstall the USB cable drivers:

  • Select Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager to Open device manager dialog box.
  • While the data cable is connected, highlight the "Bayer's USB-Serial Port (COMx)" COM Port that assign for the cable.
  • Right mouse click and select uninstall option from popup menu. Unplug the cable out before clicking "OK" button from Confirm Device Uninstall dialog box.
  • At this stage, Windows will start to remove the files from the system. Once it is complete, the system should be cleaned out. If the user plugs the cable back in, Windows Vista should ask for installation of the driver.
